First National Bank has proudly served Wyoming since 1885. The third officially chartered bank in Wyoming, and the first north of the Platte River, First National has grown from a fledgling institution with a meager $50,000 in assets, to a major banking force in the region with current resources exceeding $150,000,000.

Today, First National continues its solid tradition of community service and financial support to commercial and agricultural enterprises and private citizens alike.

The bank's history is written, not just in past financial milestones, but in the dusty corrals and long trail drives of its clients. The bank has kept faith with the community from the days of the Johnson County Cattle War, through the devastation of the Clear Creek Flood of 1912, the hard winter and drought of 1919, the great depression of the 1930s and, more recently, the disastrous spring blizzard of 1984.

In good times and bad, First National Bank has sustained its belief in the resourcefulness and character of the people who settled the Powder River country. The Johnson County Cattle War commemorative bronzes by local sculptor Mike Thomas, were presented to the Buffalo community to honor those pioneers and their descendants.
